Breast Reduction Surgery in Austin

breast-reduction-austinIf oversized breasts are interfering with your day-to-day activities or exercise, then it may be time to consider breast reduction surgery. This procedure aims to eliminate many of the physical hindrances that overly larger breasts create, including:

  • Chronic Pain
  • Nerve Damage
  • Exercise Impediment
  • Skin Irritations

In addition to offering relief from these adverse symptoms, breast reduction surgery also provides women with a boost in self-confidence and improved body image. On top of the physical impediments, excessively large breasts can become a psychological hindrance as well, limiting clothing options and causing some women to feel self-conscious in certain situations, such as when wearing a swimsuit.

Large, pendulous breasts can also keep women from partaking in healthy activities and leading an active lifestyle. Activities that provide a myriad of health and mental benefits, like running, jump roping and yoga, are often avoided by women with oversized breasts due to both physical and psychological discomfort.

At Personique, we have helped countless women reclaim a healthier, happier lifestyle through this procedure. If you’re ready to enjoy the new freedom that comes with being proud of your body and comfortable in your own skin, contact Personique today to schedule a FREE consultation to discuss breast reduction surgery or breast implant removal.

What is Breast Reduction Surgery?

Breast reduction techniques vary depending on several factors, such as the patient’s individual condition, breast composition, extent of reduction desired and the surgeon’s personal recommendations.

Often, an incision is made around the nipple and downward on the breast, similar to a keyhole pattern. Through this incision, excess fat, tissue and skin is removed and the breasts are reshaped to achieve a smaller, lighter and shapelier contour. In most breast reduction procedures, the areola and nipple remain attached to the breast. However, in patients with extremely large or pendulous breasts, the nipple and areola may need to be removed and repositioned higher on the breast for optimum results. The areola may also be reduced in size if necessary.

After your breast reduction procedure is complete, dressings or bandages will be applied to the incisions. You will be provided with a support bra to help minimize post-op swelling and provide support for the breasts during the recovery process. You will also be given specific instructions on how to best care for yourself during breast reduction recovery to reduce pain and help accelerate the healing process.

The results of your surgery will not only provide you with a more attractive breast contour, but will also enable you to enjoy new freedom in many aspects of your life. You will feel more confident partaking in physical activities like running, swimming and dancing, plus you’ll have new options for clothing. Physical complications that once plagued you such as back, neck and shoulder pain will no longer control your life.
